Rippey Lions Club – The Lions Club will meet Friday, Feb. 5 (no meeting, Feb. 4), at Dale and Nancy Hanaman’s garage at 6 pm, to prepare for the BRR Ride on Saturday, Feb. 6. Please wear a mask.
Those who will be helping on Saturday will meet in front of the Rippey library/community building at 9:30 with the sack lunches being served outside. If members are not able to help on Friday, they are welcome to come by to pick up a sack lunch on Saturday. For more information, call Nancy Hanaman, secretary, 436-7684.
Rippey United Methodist Church – Rippey United Methodist Church is going to sell sack lunches at the BRR Ride Feb.6. We will be doing this outside the church. Because of Covid, the church has been closed most of the time the last 10 months.
Weekly offerings have gone way down, leaving the church general fund in pretty sad shape. If anyone would like to make a donation to help pay for the sack lunch supplies, it would be greatly appreciated. You can send donations to the Rippey United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 286, Rippey, IA 50235. Thank you!
Rippey library news, Phyllis Bardole, librarian
I’m sorry I haven’t sent news for a while. I’ve been busy. I have several patrons a day, and I’ve been weeding some books. I’m still ordering books as patrons find something they would like to read.
We had our board meeting last Tuesday. They are keeping up to date with things. We will celebrate Black History Month. I pulled out the books I already had and have ordered some more.
My computer has been slow so our computer man came in a couple weeks ago and he ordered a new computer. It has been arriving in pieces. Now the printer won’t talk to my computer! I makes it hard to send and print what I need.
Rippey will be populated by BRR riders this Saturday. The Lions Club and the church are making sack lunches. It is supposed to be terribly cold this weekend. I hope some ride but I want them to be safe.
Curl up by the fire if you are not involved in BRR. Come into the library and pick up some books. It’s pretty safe and winter isn’t over.
